$7.0 Million for Improper Forceps Delivery

Labor and delivery nurses and hospital residents failed to diagnose a low fetal heart rate (bradycardia) and instead of performing a prompt Cesarean section, they attempted a "high" forceps delivery before the baby was low enough in the birth canal. The child suffered a brain injury / cerebral palsy.
